Warblers and Tomatoes

We saw a GoldenCheeked Warbler tonight after dinner. It was feeding in the tree tops. I thought it may come down for a drink at the new pond but it never did.

The tomatoes are ripe now and I love the variety Julia chose this year!

Golden Cheek Warbler Fledgling

Julia and I saw a Golden Cheek Warbler fledgling this morning around 11:15. It was by itself and probably a young female. We watched feed for about 15 minutes. We also have purchased a new camera so we can post some of our own images here on the blog.

Eastern Phobe

Phoebe's are always welcome here. They help keep the red wasp population down to a tolerable level

Thanks to Julia for this image

Black and White Warbler

This morning I saw my first Black and White Warbler. It was a in a small family group consisting of two adults and a fledging. Thanks to the Nature Nook for this photo

The Year of the Goldfinch

We have seen a huge boom in the Lesser Goldfinch population this year. Julia had a sighting yesterday with 9 goldfinches in the bird bath at one time. This morning we saw two males in the same scaley bark oak tree.
